If I could get back to work or things otherwise improve I'd like to get a barrel of the Aspen fuel and mix it myself.

Correct about $20 a gallon. Sunoco is offering small engine fuel in cans as well, looks to be about half the price of VP or Trufuel.
Do they ship it? Being on the most northeastern edge of the US is not without downsides. I've not seen a Sunoco station since we left NC.

A friend of mine just starting selling the a VP brand of race fuel. He sells all varieties and they store also sells pre-mix. Anyone here running and of the canned gas? Do you have any issues, likes or dislikes. It obviously costs more then mixing pump gas with premium oil but the vp stuff comes with a 3 year guarantee after its opened.

This stuff is what I would like to try.

I run it love the VP fuel but I get the one gallon four cycle then mix it with Stihl oil works very well.

What is the shelf life once opened & exposed to air? Take me a bit of time to work my way through 50+ gallons. Just wondering.

About what does a 5 gallon pail go for?
Delivered, VP SEF and Sunoco Optima are identical ....... $85/5 gallons to my door

Thats who I get it from

Aspen is still cheaper after freight if you buy it by the 50 gallon barrel. Seems to be the cheapest "canned" fuel on the market and probably the cleanest as well being Alkylate Gasoline.
To my door, the 55 gallon drum of Aspen is more than the 55 gallon drum of Sunoco or VP, which are both the same price (delivered).

These fuels begin to evaporate as soon as you break the seal, which is why I pay for the 5 gallon containers. The 55 gallons are cheaper, but just like soda, it loses it’s fizz after opening.

Trufuel, VP, Husqvarna, Stihl and a few others make similar products, but I don't believe they're true alkylate like Aspen.
I've looked at the MSDS for most of these canned fuels. They all contain alkylates, but it looks like the Stihl MotoMix is the closest to Aspen. Several other ones contain xylene and toluene as well, which is missing from Aspen and MotoMix. You can smell the difference...they smell like lacquer thinner.

How long do they take to evaporate when re-sealed? I of course expect any container to reach equilibrium between the liquid and air space. I could see myself using up the whole 55 gallons in a year or less. If we get plenty of snow this winter I can really go through some fuel since skidding logs will be much cleaner.
