This Husky 550xp saw runs fine today. The tree-removal crew loves using it. Compare the difference between post #3 and post #83.

100%. It's not only pointless to buy a great running, bulletproof saw if it doesn't feel at home in your hands....it's dangerous.
I helped my Mom's neighbor clean up a downed tree after a storm a few years ago. When i refused to take any money (she's a widow & a neighbor) she gave me a 550xp her husband bought 3 months before he died.
Anyway, long story short ...it is a great running little saw with barely a scratch on it but i'm a Stihl guy and it's literally gathering dust because It doesn't feel right in my hands.
Unfortunately, I'm kind of stuck with it. I tried giving the saw back to her twice..the first time she got offended and the second time she started talking about her husband and broke down in tears

I have not run one but hear good things about them… maybe you could just run it in his memory from time to time, be that fir her. Or port it wrap it pipe it and enjoy it being a little feral!!
