Curious Dave what your thoughts are after messing with a few of these saws what your opinion was on which way do you think a fella would be better off to have a really good firewood saw, buying a "kit" saw and building it how you like with extra parts or a fully assembled one and replacing parts to make it go good?

If it's any indication these are fun and i bought two more the Australians have a lot of experience with these they are new to me the guy's I've talked to have just run them as is some after a bigbore kit or port job and maybe a oem wrist pin bearing some have some hard year's on them i'm no expert on these but the only issue out of two saws was a carb metering spring i might have been lucky and got good examples i will see when the next two come in don't know about durability yet but i will post any issue's just as hard on fuel as my other 70cc saws lol

and maybe a oem wrist pin bearing

No 'maybe' about it, the Chinese AM wrist pin bearings for this model of saw are known to be bad ju-ju. There's a bunch of stories on this site alone about blokes using an AM bearing in a rebuild and then having the race fail. As long as you are pulling the jug, change the bearing while you're there.

I caught mine in time, the race was fractured, but it hadn't broken up and started migrating around the inside of the engine.

Yes that be the one i'm close to five gallons on the first saw i built into a 372 with all chinese parts I'm going to put oem husky wristpin bearings in that's the only change i'm going to make and the husky full wraps as far as i know they are still 29.99 plus ship on bailey's I've got one on order.
