It would be cool to take a saw and Dyno it after each mod that is done to see how much each one adds to the saw for power, etc.
Muffler mod
Timing advance
Port job
Carb mod

Dyno after each one.
After getting stock baseline.
Be alot of work, but it would be cool to see charted out.

Well...
Take saws and do them a couple different ways. See which one or way makes for a better saw.
After all, that is what the DYNO is for, no?

All fixed up there Mike.

In thinking about it a little a modded carb should make a saw a bit faster regardless of being modded or not. Obviously do better after modded, but should help even a stock saw nonetheless.

I like to muffler mod a stock saw before I even port it to get a idea of baseline performance. Then port it and test again. Gives a more realistic idea of what you actually get from porting not just from the muffler mod.

Spike60 demonstrates:
( With a saw some would have brought to a dealer thinking they had an issue)

Could this be reason for different hp numbers on 572's. Need a longer pull to allow auto-tune to reset for conditions. Or run it in a long cut to reset, then do a pull on dyno?

Wow. I am shocked. Am I the only one interested to find out the gains made to a saw from each of these individual modifications?
I know people think I say "stupid sh!t" but...
We only Dynoing full out port jobs and stock saws I guess. [emoji2369]

All or nothing...

Some people work for a living and don’t have time to comment on every single thread on this forum let alone do everything that you suggest. Just Sayin

I don't think it's "WE" dynoing anything at all.

Joe is the one doing all the work and puts in the time only to have more suggestions thrown at him and internet strangers critique what he's doing..I give the guy credit...from start to finish this dude puts a ton of effort into this contraption.

I think the guys that are into this thread should be thankful for what they get.

Personal opinion.
