Dangit im colorblind

I believe this is what it indicates. Use the TOP horsepower for each curve to differentiate between the curves.

The highest was the 500i, then 462, then 572, then 7310. Once you have got the horsepower curves, you can match them to the torque curves.

LMAO. I think we all expected a little more from it from all the hype.

I did not, though it is still a nice saw especially for the money, and great build quality. But it's heavy and doesn't have the power of the others. Now I will say I believe it's really tight and comes around with a little time, but it's still not going cut with the 572. I didn't even bother running the 7310 against the 462 or 500i, it's not in the same realm.

Really nice to see things in hard numbers. It's also nice for me personally as I've always wondered just how relevant and accurate cut times really are, so far they still seem to be viable, as my recent testing is right in line.

you mean variables ? chain and down pressure along with the density of the wood which can change from one cut to another depending on knots and so forth

No viable. It's far from perfect, there is no disagreement in that.:Saeufer:
must be if you are saying the dyno is not doing its job because you dont get the results you want to see

instead of you husky boys making excuses and saying its not fair
ship your junk to joe when he gets done with his job

you see the results from all brand new saws and then complain saying it needs done in wood

and how is the 572 in a different realm ? results show it wasnt the one with highest power or torque

Read that post again I said nothing of the sort. The 462 and 500i are in a different realm than the 7310. I never suggested anyone needs to anything in wood. I don't even know where you got this from, maybe too much sauce tonight...

Why would the 572 be the one with the most power and torque it’s not even supposed to be according manufacturer specs

You said the 572 not the echo

ask Andy why the 572 is in a different realm when he didn’t mention the echo or dolmar

Again I have no idea what you're talking about When I said it, I was talking about the Echo not the 572, and is the reason for the edit. Have a good night.

Different loggers have different needs. As a firewood hack, it makes a lot of sense to me in Australia to build up a cheap Chinese 365 to be my bucking saw. I built my 77cc saw for less than A$600.

Here's what a 500i costs in Oz -https://www.stihl.com.au/STIHL-Products/Chainsaws/Professional-Chainsaws/287735-1573/MS-500i.aspx

There is no way I could justify that cost, I don't care how much wood I cut. Yeah, it would be nice to have the best saw to use, but I'm just cutting firewood. Having a number of sharpened chains on hand (Oz hardwood with termite deposits can be rough on chains) is a much better, cost effective approach than the strongest saw in the woods.

Admittedly, I envy you guys that can afford the good stuff.

EDIT: And that doesn't count the maintenance costs of having a Dealer tune the injection system if it needs it. I'll take a old style carb and tweak it the way I want to and then rebuild it every few years.

EDIT: I also forgot to add 10% Goods and Service Tax (GST) to the cost of the saw. Take a $2,000 saw, add 10% and it is A$2,200.
