I could see where a non mtron carb like the 69 would come in handy. Mine won't clean up at all with 20" or less.

What coil is on your 661?

Seems like if all you run is a shirt bar you'd want the coil that runs the leanest and not the new one.

I'm tired of replacing case halves and pto side bearings on the saws that run 404,one crew here does and they constantly are eating that bearing.

There fixing to go to 375 when they have to start buying new cases.

The ported 1122's they run cut awesome and the guys love it but it's to hard on parts.

It needs to be on 880 and 3120 where chain speed is less and bearings are bigger.

I do my best to stay away from rakers on 404 ...............
So far, I'm down to 1/2 the tooth on some and all I've had to do is adjust the angles a wee bit, but the rakers are still stock

I like it for bucking but when you're falling and topping and have to keep a snug chain and use the tip of the bar it is hard on things.
I can assure you the saws are strong enough to run it but they don't live long

That's why they love it.
Sharpen once a day and wear most of the chain out with stock rakers.
You have to file stihl rs when it's new or it kicks

I'm sure that they are strong, but the 1122's are known to spin the pto side bearing, even running.375

I'm sure that a little bit more oil will help, but it's not easy to get loggers to change their way
