Not in my strip. If a tree falls in the woods on a Monday morning.....did .404 kill it?
404 on a 064 or 066 at 10:1 is bearing death.50:1 + .404 = bearing death
@Jacobj knows about this i believe ,think it was a common thing on metal flywheel saws .404 on a 064 or 066 at 10:1 is bearing death.
These guys run lucas at 32:1 and it's not beating the bearing out, most of the time I reuse the bearing and seal,it's beating the case out. Oil won't help that.
I know there bad for it these are what I work on. I also have cut alot of timber and it's very easy to see which chain is harder on the saw.@Jacobj knows about this i believe ,think it was a common thing on metal flywheel saws .
How do your older top ends run on the 660 bottoms ? Is there really that much difference with the early case ?I know there bad for it these are what I work on. I also have cut alot of timber and it's very easy to see which chain is harder on the saw.
I've tried getting them to change to 660's but they don't want to.
Whats the difference in a poly flywheel case and a aluminum flywheel case on the pto side? How do your older top ends run on the 660 bottoms ? Is there really that much difference with the early case ?
I think the 660 has a wider bearing ,someone that builds more may correct me though .The cranks do snap off the 660's though on the sprocket side ,i broke one milling once ,and faller next door broke one cutting timber in same spot .Whats the difference in a poly flywheel case and a aluminum flywheel case on the pto side?
They have the same bearing and the case is the same accept the length.I think the 660 has a wider bearing ,someone that builds more may correct me though .The cranks do snap off the 660's though on the sprocket side ,i broke one milling once ,and faller next door broke one cutting timber in same spot .
Why are the cranks different ? wider on the 660 ? when i was looking for a crank it made difference between poly and aluminum flywheel .They have the same bearing and the case is the same accept the length.
Flywheel side is different
The crank on a 660 is bigger on the flywheel side but the same on the pto.Why are the cranks different ? wider on the 660 ? when i was looking for a crank it made difference between poly and aluminum flywheel .
Flywheel side looks thicker ,is the bearing the same ?660 on the top
