I may try one with a forward face impulse conversion at some point. Make a gasket that sits next to the 044 boot.

I needed an 044 outer metal surround for the saw but didn’t have one. I used the 361. I have before with no sealing or idle issues.

Nope. I tried many.

It’s gotta be custom, and the extra Arctic wiring adds to the fun.

If it’s too long, the operator presence lever won’t let it go back to idle. Too short and the throttle won’t open Fully.

Trully the bane of the build.

Well here it is.

Can’t find my high flow air filters. I also haven’t opened the air box for fresh air intake.

The chain hit something and dulled somewhere around the second cut.

Had it up to 14800 freespooling. Seemed to not pop but be fat in the cut. Safer that way.

Nice thread Doc! I had no idea what all went into your 361 build. I see why they end up being a “B!tch”
The whole reason I keep clear of the awesome 361 is their mufflers. Like Doc points out, they are a royal pain to get any flow through them. I refuse to operate a non muffler modified saw, one of my quirks.
