Big jugs are much nicer anyhowThose little jugs are harder for me to do. Such a small area to work in.

Are you talking about the roof of the upper transfers when you raise it .030-.040 ? If so , I want earlier opening and longer duration on the intake , correct ?simple mod, open original muffler port, pull gasket, raise transfer 30-40 thou. make sure they are equal port open side to side. you don't have to touch the bottom of the transfers, you don't have to widen or adjust the I and E. May not be a blue ribbon saw but will firewood well.

Thanks Al!Dan,
Your work looks very very nice.
Ok thanks, Numa. I've got to square up and blend the intake yet, then I'll bevel all the port edges. Good idea finishing with the sandpaper. Thanks.View attachment 5971 Nice, looks good. The bevel is probably the most important thing you can do, I use a ball shape cutter and just run it around once and then I use my finger and sand paper coming in from the outside and hooking my finger against the bevel.
You can leave them tapered. Its hard to see them unless you get the cylinder On an angle more downward.Great! Mike do you think it's good to leave the transfers slightly different since this is a firewood saw, the widened power band might be useful? Or just make them even?

Square the floor and not the roof too much if rings pass it. I'm not sure on that model.Ok thanks, Numa. I've got to square up and blend the intake yet, then I'll bevel all the port edges. Good idea finishing with the sandpaper. Thanks.

When you drop the jug you get more intake duration. Are you talking about the roof of the upper transfers when you raise it .030-.040 ? If so , I want earlier opening and longer duration on the intake , correct ?
