I just built an 044 hybrid. The build is in this forum somewhere. Pretty fun but I wouldn't do it again unless I was getting paid for it.

Brad saw it. I thought I had as well. You may have a 460 PTO side.

I'm not sure what the area is. The fly side is definitely 044, I'm not so sure on the PTO side.

Can anyone with more experience tell.

that appears to be an ms440 PTO side 1128 020 2961

the flywheel side is 044. 1128 021 0760

not that I know much about these sort of things. I would suspect the wrong crank if it doesn't fit between those two

interestingly enough, and Brad picked it out, that hole in the case half wouldn't cause an air leak. ... but its kinda awkward between the two of them.

I have a crankshaft 12mm if interested

Let's see what I end up having and needing after I send a list to Dave. Thank you!

I'm certainly not getting paid, but it sounds like a really fun novice+ project for my son and I.

No bill, you bought a saw in a box, we will get it figured out buddy

I appreciate it Dave! I look forward to the jigsaw puzzle ahead.

I once used an 044 flywheel side case and a MS440 clutch side case. As long as both are from 12mm pin saws it should be okay. I could see a difference between the two halves other than the oil cap.

Did ya keep it? Curious as to long-term survival of mismatched cases. So curious, in fact, that I built one up last summer.

Dave is the bestest! He always helps me out on my builds, even though I stole his gas csn last time I visited.

Shame on you lol! I know Dave is a good dude.

Anyone Near Dallas?

Look what I just found on letgo! - Stihl chainsaws posted by Nathan Borofskyhttps://app.letgo.com/k8Mk/iaORvrxgkH

I sent a message to the guy

That was slightly off topic lol.

Once Dave catches up with me, I'll have some updates for this build.

In the meanwhile, I need to get to Harbor Freight and pick up one of those small US Cleaners.
