The 036 loves to be tickled. As a matter of fact the 0 series saws in general love to be ported. There were exceptions where some saws came from the assembly line hotter than others, for sure...but the majority love a port job. Thanks, it surprised me.

Thanks, my numbers were pretty close to yours but with more blow down.I agree, that sounds super nice… I love my 036 but I had my 461 out yesterday… I love this one too.. but it’s bigger and heavier
what was the numbers you ended up with and the timing adv ? Any near mine ?
On this one I drilled two aprox 3/4" holes in the front part of the baffle and added a 3/4 pipe outlet. I don't have a pic but it's like this one from my 036 hybrid.I never completely took out the baffle, I just drilled 2 extra holes in it 3/8 (9mm) iirc.
But I did enlarge the outlet more
edit we didn’t have the same std oem exhaust fitted
I like that muffler mod.View attachment 323844 Man you guys I'm loving this thread! ..found a spankin new OEM 034 super cylinder and piston. Going on a 036pro case. Its gonna be nice not having to use the 461 on everything once they're on the ground. This it my version of opening up the muffler..then I cleaned up the saw, pulled the straight gassed/thrashed cylinder and piston..
Don't forget your other exhaust bolt. 034 super cylinders run good!View attachment 323844 Man you guys I'm loving this thread! ..found a spankin new OEM 034 super cylinder and piston. Just killin time playing around..prolly never do this again..too touchy for a cView attachment 323859 ylinder that would actually matter.
It does, but it leaks eventually.I wonder if epoxy would work instead of welding.
