I have a 034 that I plan on making a hybrid out of but befor I do I'm going to port a 036 cylinder tomorrow and see how it does. So far I've cut .040 from the band and set the squish to .018. At the moment the EX is at 110, by eye, and the point of the V of the IN is around 81. I'm looking for torque and was thinking EX 104, TR 122 and just widen the IN. Any thoughts on those numbers?

How open is your muffler going to be?

Good size opening, haven't done it yet so I'm not sure of the exact size yet.

I'd stay a little higher on the exhaust, at least to start, but I have nothing to back that opinion up with. If you're lucky a guy like @drf256 that's built the strongest 036 I've ran will chime in.
Yea, hopefully he'll chime in and give me some pointers. Did you end up finding a case for yours?

I'd keep blowdown in the 20-degree range if you are running 102 exhaust so if you really load the saw it won't bog. You will give up some top end but the mid range will be stronger under the curve.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'm pretty new to porting so I'm not sure what each saw likes.

Nope. I thought it would be a screamer, but it just snarls at everything. It holds RPM in the cut surprisingly well.

My only regret is the triple port muffler. LOUD!
That's what I was thinking with a high exhaust, good to know that's not the case with these.

102 is about right for a 60cc saw range.

Iirc, my 036 had 104 ex without any machine work. I also tried 20thou off the key. Then someone said try 30thou. It goes very nicely now.. with the muffler opened up a bit.

I will have a look and see if I can find my notes on the in & trans
