No not yet, may have to give it try.....Have you tried a carb swap on one yet? I've tried the RWJ-4 and the results were pretty good. I'm doing an HS-296 on my next 281 build.
I like the 296 over the RWJ
I have to admit it if I had the cash, and the choice to pick between a stock new 390xp and 661... I’d pick the 661.Course it beat the Stihl, you were running a superior saw, a Husky!! LMAO
No doubtI have to admit it if I had the cash, and the choice to pick between a stock new 390xp and 661... I’d pick the 661.
Just giving the stihl.guys a hard time , nothing wrong with a Stihl except for there parts pricing.

I figured that was just thinking maybe there was some reason to keep the port timing stock guess there isn't so not sure why the 181 281 cylinders are preferred by some. once this is done what would be the benefit of a 181 281 cylinder with a smaller bore? I guess some prefer the 181 281 if they want to keep it stock but I want all my saws portedJust cut the band adjust the squish to 0.018 you done.
Race saw. If you take the right amount of the band the timing # come really close all that's left is widen them and I always tweak the uppers.
I take 0.040 out of the band on most of them I don't know were you run your ext or uppers I usually stay around 100 ext 118 uppers.I don't know what the right amount is to you, but 0.040-0.050" makes for a lot of grinding on the uppers and exhaust.
