Dolmar PS-7900 hands down!
Stock with muffler mod in my case.

I'm also extremely impressed by my stock muffler moded Dolmar PS-7300 & Dolmar PS-7310.
The later really needs a removal of the SLR to wake her up.

Granted, I've never ran any other saw brand in this class - and I'm honestly not looking to!

Solo 681. I've yet to run a saw stronger stock saw for the displacement. I'm not sure I wanna put any bets on a stock 660 or 390xp knocking it off in a hurry either. I use my ported 660 more as its tough & set up for work, but whenever I pull out my minty 681 for a run its simply impressive. I'm hoping the 5 cube MS500i will one day seal the deal on the strongest 5 cuber. Hopefully the revive of the 5 cube saw is coming & husky offers one up. Its by far mu fave class of saw. Done well they have the weight of a 70cc saw with the power of a 90cc saw, that's kinda what the 681 is IMO.

Doesn’t the 681 have issues with the crank coming apart or something like that? Just curious, as I heard of something along those lines.

7900 is my all time favorite saw. I had a ported 440/046 at the same time as I had a ported 7900... and the 7900 had much more power. I have a 665/7910 now, but haven’t run it much.

I recently tuned up and restored an Echo CS-8000 and was very impressed with it. It's been replaced by the CS-800. Not the lightest saw in the world, but it's built like a battleship. It's sitting right on 81cc. No decomp valve, so it starts about as easy as pulling my Stihl 064.

Here is my CS-670, the next size down from the CS-8000. I pull a 28" bar with it most of the time and use a bar adapter that I made in my shop so that I can run all my big Stihl bars with it:

It has never seriously objected to either a 30" or a 32" bar. Starts all the time, runs strong, never bogs down, and it's a keeper. My 046 Mag is really jealous of this saw, and so is my Makita 6401 with a BBK. They keep asking me, "Edwin, where did you find this beast?"

Video of it beating the 046 and 6401 with same B/C?

Guess I need to take 181 fo a spin and see what all the hype is about.
I may need to git me one. Then bore it to 56mm.
No, the whole plan is to find a 181 that still has an OEM top end, I owned a nice low hour all OEM and stock 288 and still feel my 181's run better....;)

If you look at the combustion chamber in an early 181 cylinder as compared to a 288, they're about half the size.
