Very nice.
Is it time for the "quarter swipes", or is that chain for another saw.
all of these chains I am testing don't yet have a specific saw but I am going to keep notes on them to help make it easy to match chains to future saws, the chains I have that belong to a specifc saw only get run at race time

I put my 5ci chain on my 066 ported work saw once to see what it would cut. I can hear him at end of videos saying 1.09 1.09 1.06 with just a 8T. Not even turned up for gtg racing still fat for work.
Wood was either aspen or poplar left over from one of my racing gtg's back then.
No piston work, stock oem piston. Nothing fancy, just a good ole work saw. No squish cut or nothing. No carb work.

Saw was ported by Brent Combs from WV. But someone else had claimed to porting it but was a lie like usual. ;)

Dave have you ever come across any of that Stihl high tooth .404 timbersport chain?
I have access to buying some of the stuff, but just don't feel like spending the high dough to buy it at the moment.
It's what everyone wants but is a mystery chain with very little information about it.

Nice! Good ole OHIO speedwood! Lol
Nice cutting techniques. Fast changeovers!
I remember summer logging on a hot spring day falling spruce, then every now and then zipping through a poplar like butter.

Even more like melted butter when you buck up a poplar in the middle of the tree. First 6 feet from the stump is the toughest.:)

Simon Bertrand sells that high tooth 404. ;) Has been for years now.
Yup, he's the man. Once I get my bikesaw closer to finish I'll definitely have to unload my wallet and get a few loops of the stuff.
Anyone have any more info about the .404HT?

High tooth info with pics over the years http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/chain/404-'high-tooth'-chisel-chain/

Pics from the thread above 404 high tooth practice chain and 1 404 high tooth series chain.
Was a guy in NY selling the bikesaw and chains pics.
1994 cr250r bikesaw for sale. My personal saw. Consistent running motor . Big bore, custom head , custom case and cylinder head porting done by me .
Chris Henning ran it all last year with many placements and a Canadian win on his belt . Comes with 1 404 high tooth practice chain and 1 404 high tooth series chain . 17 tooth paddle sprocket . Mikuni sbn38mm carb . Polished and tuned for c12 and c16 .

Hope you wasnt talking about me and change overs. I was slow as ice melting. aka suked.

Good enough for gtg stuff but not with the john force guys of the real racing world. Jerry Gingras, Phil Helsel, Jay Helsel. Brent, Nate, Simon, etc etc etc etc etc ................
