The short screws go in the bottom of the fuel tank to hold the handle bar. The long ones go up the side on the pto side. Also wanted to show how the wire run across the air conductor.

Well got my nutsert tool from eBay. Works well. I am interested to see how solid they are after some run time. On to the muffler mod. Used a 288 deflector. Did some mock up to make sure a had clearance where it was needed and got my holes drilled and nutsert installed.

I also don't use the 346 muffler support. I use the reflecting foil from under Stihl 460 mufflers to shield the oil tank. In case my muffler bolts were to come lose. It my not work at all but makes me feel better. My other 350/346 has the same set up.IMG_1055.JPG

Glad it was a help to you.

On a side note guess a should have saved that 288 deflector as they are NLA. Does anyone know if there are aftermarket 288 deflectors available?

Im sorry but 18 bucks for a deflector is too dam expensive. I will make my own or buy red97s. To me the whole muffler should be 30 bucks. You know dam well husky buys them from china so why not buy or make them cheaper for us.

I've seen them for $10 or 12, and thought that was robbery. It's different if a guy is knocking them out one at a time by hand, but they made millions.

But, at the end of the day when you need it: Joe has it. Not only does he have it; it is in stock, on hand and ready to ship.

Onan18 for the win!

*****Edited because I was an azzhole. Apologies for pooping in a very informative thread*****
