That is the plan, the one I have now is a milder port, around 210 lbs compression next one will be closer to 240 lbs, the other 2 are still up in the air yet at this point. My current ported one has a 2100 piston in in, probably try a 395 piston in the next and some different options, I don't want to do 2 the same.

@huskyboy I put a rubber limiter on to buffer against the metal.

Honestly, I'm not 100%. It was laying around and fit. Highly likely as I've been through a bunch of 3 series Huskys @ the time I put my 394 together.That seems like a good idea, those look like the buffers on a 350 husky?

Almost every 394/5 I've seen has that little chip in the front. There, its done, although I detect the beginnings of a crack on Jasons.

Yup that lip of the case gets beat. Easy fix is installing this crank case protector. My 394 is a 1998 and it already had the holes tapped, older saws have the bosses cast in but you have to drill and tap them to install the protector, which is what @RIDE-RED 350r had to do on his 1994(?) 394. I got mine in the OEM full wrap kit from baileys. It’s insane how cheap that kit is.@Wolverine , @T.Roller

Took me quite a bit of digging to find the info but the wj 39 has a 18.45mm venturi and 71 has a 18.25mm if I’m not mistaken. I believe the L circuit could be possibly jetted richer in the 39. But not positive on that. No need to throw out a good working wj 71/70 however. Wj39 is getting hard to find anyway. It’s just a bonus when the saw ends up having one.Here’s a question I was talking with @Daserlon about not long ago: what’s the difference between a WJ39 and a WJ71? Too my knowledge the biggest difference is that the 71 is equipped with EPA limiters on the jets. Is one of them considered the better carb performance wise? @srcarr52 @rattler

Is the WJ115 a stock upgrade or do you need mods for it to run well? Learning dot dot dotAlso... I kinda like the Tilly that came on early 385/395’s better than the walbro’s. The wj 115 works well on my 395 so I won’t be getting rid of it however. Not that big of a difference.
