Speaking of another slight difference between 394/early 395’s and later 395’s... I discovered you can’t use the later tank vent on the earlier tank. At least on mine the tank hole was too large and leaked fuel a lot with the new style vent. Old style vent and problem was gone. New style is a restrictive epa vent anyway, prefer the old style. New style has a long hose that goes up to airbox, old style has a white breather plug.

I think i like the feel of a 2 port motor. Probably just because thats what im used to running. Also am partial to older designs. Those 2 reasons is what would probably push me to choose a 394 ovrr a 395. Now if i was actually using my head i should pick the 395 over the 394 for parts availability alone. Nothing worse then having to look all over hell for some small obsure part to fix a saw or anything for thst matter. The 395 or 395 saws ive ran at gtgs were both very nice and one wouldnt go wrong with wither one. I prefer to port a 2 port motor over a quad that i have little experience with.

My friend who I was cutting for took some vid I think but I didn't mess with it. We had our hands full dealing with a yellow jacket nest in that log and then just got the last cuts made minutes before a bad storm hit. Was kinda on a mission to get it done and just didn't think of it
