I used a 461 and a 550 to take almost 30 for a garage bein built this weekend.

I dont overthink these things..i just take what i need and do it.

But 90/60 and a top handle would be fine if it was all i was to ever own...i really like the 241s too..id hate to be without one but id make it work.

:eek:I had three saws at one time. Not now, I have three Efco 156's.
Ms180 a 044 Echo 530 plus more. I guess there is no more three
saw plans. Projects saws too. Wait they are all project saws.
CAD is a bad thing.

550xp, 562xp, 372xp, and MMWS ms460. If I'm cutting out fence line I'll be with the 550xp, if I'm on firewood duty I usually have the 562xp, if I'm stumping or bucking big rounds I'll have the 372xp. MS 460 stays on the shelf.

Hardly ever without a hotrod 346 and a 7900 while in the woods. Oh wait a minute this isn't the ultimate two saw plan thread:cbiggrin2:

Depends. Can't bring but so many. Almost all milling lately- big bitternut hickory, black locust, and a sugar maple yet to drop. 3-saw plan evolved as:
576AT Husqy w/32" semi-chisel full-skip in 30" Alaskan III for slabbing
Dolly 6100 2/24" semi-chisel full-skip in Granberg Mini-Mill for edging/ripping
PP5020 w/16" semi-chisel for ripping limb bulges & odd jobs
All "dead" stock, in a manner of speaking. If they can't cut it stock, they get cut.
Of course, Granberg file guide in the kit.
Thinking about a 390/395 for milling if a trend is starting here. 576 is too pretty for all this sustained grunt-work.

OTOH clearing trail blowdowns often just takes 40 cc RedMax or 33 cc Tanaka in the pack. Occam's Razor thing- KISS.

I have been feeling pretty well set with my 3 saws;

421 with 16" and 18" bars
562 with 20"
681 with 24"

My problem now, is I'm seriously considering buying a CSM. I could give the Solo a go, but that seems like I'd be asking an awful lot from her.

Thoughts on a suitable saw for an Alaskan on hardwoods? Might have to start a new thread, hmmm...

Never had a 530 but had a Echo 520 that Randy ported (was my first ported saw) and holy *s-worde that saw was mean. I got it for free and sent it to him. He labeled it a "346 killer"
