Actually people should hope that it runs so well guys don't have to spend more money to get the performance they are lookin for.
Stock will never be enough for many of us, regardless of how well it runs.

Am I crazy??? I measure a used 460 piston where the rings are and get 2.040, but when I measure the skirt I get 2.045??? Is this normal???
Yes. The top of the piston sees more heat and expands more.

I see they are going with the slanted back cylinder design like the 5 series huskys.

What have they figured out by doing that?
The cylinder is not laid back any more than normal. It's only the cooling fins that give that appearance.

Thanks for that info Brad, makes sense, but I didn't know it. So is this a slightly smaller bore, or is that difference too small to matter (or designed for more heat expansion)?

Factory saws will never match ported saw performance because of how the EPA measures emissions. Their flawed system simply measures emissions based on the displacement of the saw, not on how strong it runs or how much work it can do.

So, now we got 6 transfer ports???

And that plug looks like it has more thread than normal, like the new longer auto ones?

I see the pin for the top ring is dead toward the intake, but I don't see the pin for ring #2???

This thing is going to be very interesting!

A shorter stroked 460/461 would help to explain reduced weight in the crank & rod.

These pics come to us by way of @StephK87 from Germany. He was kind enough to void his warranty and send us these pics. Not only that, he will be porting this saw ASAP and gutting the stratos, Snellerized Style. I can't wait to see how this thing runs! It looks like a cross between a MS261CII and a MS661C.

Stephen's initial comments are that it's as light as a MS362, as strong as a MS461 but with better acceleration, and much better handling than a MS441.

I happened to be at the dealer today when these pics got posted. I showed them to him and get actually got a little excited. Asked me if I was going to get one sent over from Germany...

Stihl Canada was having their National Sales meetings this week, he's calling his rep Monday morning to see if they said anything about the 462's at the meetings.

I told him to put me down for 4 arctics and he about *s-word himself...
Should have taken a pic of his face there Gary could have been priceless
