I do 90% of the electrical electronics so I stay busy unless my appointments cancel out. Was booked three weeks out but now it's down to two days out. When I'm not working I help the guys in the shop where I can. I also teach some of the guys when they run into a problem and their way isn't working. One guy I've given up on because he thinks he knows it all. Big guy upstairs told me not to give up on him.

RC cola and boiled pnuts are good. Stopped putting pnuts in my cola years ago. Stopped eating Moon Pies over 10 years ago, just lost the taste for them. Sundrop is good. Surge cola is good still, I miss Jolt cola.

I remember those days. People used to also buy a bottle of coke and a pack of peanuts and put the peanuts in the coke.

I'm reading lots and lots of strange and bewildering news these days, but somehow, this strikes me a some of the weirdest. I never knew people did that!

Little 10 oz bottles used to pull out of the vertical slot-door coke machines in the barber shops decades ago...little peanut bags were always right by the coke machines.

Well.... had a bit of a scare last nite. The oldest son popped a fever but no cough hasn’t left the house since Friday..... fought all nite and most of today to get him an appointment. He still has fever this morning after Tylenol wore off 3 times and developed a cough as well. Those two things flagged every covid screen he had to go through and stopped us dead in our tracks. Never mind the glaring white pustules in his throat. I finally got a bit “flustered” with someone that called directly to his primary care providers charge RN which did a little more in depth screening on him. She managed to get him an appointment with his primary care so we didn’t have to take him to urgent care or ER and expose him to other people and vice versa. Well hmmmmm same diagnosis as myself and his mother came to Strep throat. Antibiotics prescribed and a board doing their job.
I understand the caution in healthcare and keeping resources available for those that need them but how about more in depth questions than JUST the cdc recommended Covid-19 questions before shutting someone down and saying nope the child will have to stay at home and suffer through it. I just wish they would remember that bacterial infections DONT get better without antibiotics, when there are infantand toddler children in the house they don’t do well at all with strep, unlike youngins with covid doing very well with it.
There are still other General illnesses out there that still Require assessment by a physician in order to get the necessary treatment. Just be ready for the run around if your kids have something that doesn’t walk and talk like a duck but has a feather none the less it will get treated like the ugly duckling at this point in time.
Rant over

Glad your primary care had a level head.

Whole thing sucks. Had four weeks of work scheduled on monday. Flash fwd to today and there's nothing.

What really blows is my winter stash is depleted. The saws I sold went against my mortgage to pay it down. Don't qualify for unemployment. So things are going to be real thin for a while.

Hoping and praying that this thing passes quickly and we can get back to business. Right now everything is at a standstill. Work isn't there so that puts the house hunt on hold. Completely changed our plans for the year.

Only good thing that might come out of this is I might actually get caught up on some house projects. And maybe if I can't move this year, I'll get next winters wood cut, split and stacked.

Strange times.

The DOD hasn’t stopped any of my projects. They even award me another this morning.

I was expecting a full halt to everything.

cant figure out if it’s a use it or lose it, or get it while we can before SHTF type deal going on with them.

not even a change in hand shake SOP with the brass I deal with. Weird.

@kfd518 whoa. That’s some scary stuff. Hope the little guy is kicking a$$ already.

Yep, they did it all the time when I was growing up. I tried it once, didn't really care for it.

I remember that. You could park in the middle of town and walk to the barber shop, hardware store and other places leaving the windows down and the keys in the truck and not even think about anyone stealing anything.

I’m afraid that the entire country is going into lockdown shortly. California just done it. Going to be a domino effect from there I’m sure. My wife is on furlough. Her boss will continue to pay her for as long as he is able. I’m on salary so my money will continue to come in. We do washes mostly for big investment firms. With the market like it is I’m worried about the future. Car washes are frivolous to most people. I’m going to finish up what I can today and pack up and head home for a while. I’ve got lots of dead ash to keep me busy. Keep your heads up and enjoy your family. This will pass. Just don’t know what it will look like on the other side when it’s over.

:cool:will Find out in a little bit I’m sure, if he’s kicking it yet. He normally doesn’t slow down for ANYTHING and if the antibiotics are doing their jobs he’ll at least be up to half speed by this afternoon if the past is any indicator.
Dad works for federal government and was sent home early last nite 2 weeks w pay.
He should be fully retired but found out at the date he was set to retire that some regulation had changed sometime in his GS and he was short about 3 months. Took a seasonal job and has been working midnites since January. He told them after as long as he was a supervisor he just want a menial job when he went on the look for what he is doing now!
