I would still use the hybrid on that whole tree., just buck the limbs at the trunk so they hit the ground them use the bar tip on the 32 Inch bar for firewood roumds, easier on my back them holding a saw in the air, but do what works for you as long as it gets done is all that counts
A 70cc saw is a great all around saw. However if the wood is under 18" or so for the most part a 50 or 60cc saw works just fine.
Really a 60cc saw is a in betweener. Not really light and nimble like a 50 and without the jam of a 70. However the 562 blurs the lines somewhat.

I've never seen a 32" bar in the woods here. It would take a 90+cc saw to pull that in our wood.

I tried an 036 ,it cut the wood ,was slow in my opinion , if you ran my hybrid ,you would not go back to a little saw ,it handles real well with a 32 inch light bar and the 461 handlebar ,feels not much different that the 036 for weight ,the 461 feels heavier ,does not balance as well to me so it sits a lot ,I have 2 hybrids right now ,one is more of a hot rod than the other ,i had the full 32 inch bar buried in a fir stump the other day ,and it cut right through with .404 skip chain ,i have cut maple also ,it is a hardwood ,it rips right through it also easier than the doug fir ,a stock 440 is a turd in my opinion ,as is a stock 372 ,stock they do not pull a long bar well ,but if hopped up right they do real nice .,the 026 is painfully slow cutting doug fir over 8 inches through ,useless in my opinion except for limbs .

Does a 461 handlebar change the balance of the saw, ie ... make it balance better with a long bar? Also, it is different than a 460 handlebar?
Yes it is different than the early 460 handlebars ,is higher and roomier ,makes not feel as nose heavy ,the rh side hangs lower also .

The 360/036 is a bigger turd than the 026/260.
Try a 562xp. About as fast as my dual port MS440.
I have cut plenty of firewood with 70-90cc saws, just don't have the need anymore since I am not logging full time. I find the 562 fills the bill for me just fine for bigger wood with a 24" bar, but mostly I just use my MS260. That will probably change as I plan on buying a 550 soon.

The maple you have isn't sugar maple. Trust me on this. A ms460 with a 24 " bar isn't really impressive in sugar maple. Also keep in monday we have only a 5 month growing season here, so the wood is slow growing and dense.
As I have mentioned prior. I have cut old growth doug fir in MT which is much denser and slower growing than your wet side stuff. It cut like butter IMO. About on par with our hemlock.

Well, I have been known to pack a shotgun during bird season or a rifle during deer season, but never a pistola.
Rough neighborhood where your cutting?

Vermin, coyotes, car hit deer that make it to the fence row, rambunctious herd bull, the odd mountain lion(but not according to the Game Commission) but the neighborhood is nice. Everyone carries.

Our DNR side the same thing about cougars until someone smoked one with a car and another turned up dead with a bullet in its head. Same thing with wolves before that.

Several years ago one walked out of the woods and pissed on a stump. Right in front of a news crew. They had difficulty explaining that one.
