Which limbing saw??

Used my 346xp yesterday, it's actually a 353 with oem ne top end, worked pretty well in a log pile of 8"-12" dead gum logs

John and I built and sold saws from 026 to 088 for awhile!! Alota nice saws went through our hands and I have a feel for what I wanted and like for awhile now. 390 with 404 for noodling, 064 for bucking bigger wood, 562 for bucking and noodling medium to smaller wood and 346 for small wood/limbing

The more saws of various makes and models one puts in his hands and runs for a while in the woodpile the better judge of a good saw he becomes. I don't put much weight on the opinion of a guy & his new 60cc echo that he reccomends highly that is one of 2-3 saws he's ever run.

Ya and whats right for one wont be the feel for the next one and what they like the attitude of equipment to be in the cut

here are a couple the 044 handle is a lot tighter to the saw ,the 461 has more room top and sides .

I like a limbing saw that is a top handle, and light enough that I can easily hold it in one hand while I throw brush with the other.

This^^^ is why plus wolves bears and an occasional rabid squirrel. When I'm out by myself I carry. If I'm out with the family it is in the truck. You just never know.

Or maybe just pull that 385 out of the cut and use that as a defensive weapon? Probably more effective and timely than drawing the pea shooter???

Just kidding around of course, I couldn't resist...

I have a few revolvers and carry in the woods pretty frequently too...

I thought about Massey Ferguson darker gray in Valspar Tractor & Implement paint. Its super tough and stays put

Meh, don't worry about the gray clutch cover.... it will wear off quickly from all the times that saw is going to flop over when you set it down!!! (I say this as a 346 owner my own self! LOL!)

absolutly a beautiful 346, when was it made?
There is a long list of coils that is bolt on, only different is spark plug wire, limited vs unlimited.
