That's not a Barbie jeep...... It's a Tonka.Never figured you for the Barbi Jeep kinda guy but hey, whatever floats your boat.
Gonna be a cool project either way. I’ve seen pictures of things you’ve restored. Top notch work Brian. That's not a Barbie jeep...... It's a Tonka.

I like how the blueing didn’t color the aluminum plugs.@PhilbertI'm no expert..
Sanded this down to 220. It had deep grinding marks so I didn't go far enough to remove them all.

Not sure why it got spotty, never did before. But after sanding, I used acetone to clean it, then just wipe of the liquid and let it sit for a minute, then wipe with a water soaked rag to stop the process. You can do it multiple times for darker color.

Thanks for posting that.@PhilbertI'm no expert..
Fits snugly, same filter as the 661, but the 661 MaxFlo cover wont fitHow does it fit under the hood? It is the same filter as the 661 correct?
Yep. A topcoat of clear can be applied to protect the finish. And slight warming the metal helps darken the color. I didn’t this time because I wanted the different shades. These two bars I did warm a bit. Thanks for posting that.
Can you leave it on longer instead of doing multiple coats?
I have painted bars, but never blued or lacquered any.
Philbert
I’ll take a pic for you later today.394 getting seals, carb kit, and a brake band. But now I can’t remember how the brake flag goes back together. Any help out there for a fool like me?
