As Colin Clive said in the 1931 film Frankenstein, ITS ALIVE!!

Runs pretty damn good!

Going to JB Weld the tank for now and if I get a chance I'll pull it apart again and seal it up properly.

Picking up a new Oregon chain tomorrow after work.

Hope to get it tuned at Dan's this coming Sunday.

I've had it for about a year or so before I met him. Met him a few weeks ago for the first time in person. He lives just up the road from me, about 8 minutes away. Thank you, it was a pretty easy one to get running.

I wants ....I needs.. :babeando: I'm up to my eyeballs in dirty fire wood right now. Semi-chisel ain't gonna be enough Gonna pick up a loop of .325 and low pro tonight and try it out on Thursday. That pic gives me a better idea of how the cutter was formed. Is the carbide cap soldered or welded to the chain?
I believe that it’s brazed

You grind it?
That is a picture of my 511’s chain vice

After a few distractions I guess I'm back to putting together another 290-390 conversion. I started this a week or so ago and had it done and started it up and the engine let go, piston parts everywhere so I'm giving it another try with another new engine. I hope it turns out better than the last one..

I just finished up this ugly saw. I put a NOS 54mm top end on it. Did I put a 385 or 390 top end on it?

Ms362CM. Did a reset and High side is still not delivering fuel as it should. I believe the solenoid has a little trash in it. Further inspection yields 115 PSI and light scoring on the exhaust side of the piston.

I always try to tell the guys if it’s starts acting up, just shut it down and grab another saw. Each crew goes out with enough saws to have a yard sale. Oh well......

Mtronic and auto tune systems are not the Devil. They both work extremely well and are reliable. Running a clogged fuel filter will ruin any saw. I’m sure the saw got progressively worse and they still ran it. Hopefully an ultrasonic cleaning on the carb and a new solenoid will do it after a rebuild

Stihl recommends a new fuel filter and spark plug twice a year. This is only the second solenoid failure here at the tree Co since I’ve been here (3 years). Non ethanol fuel filtered with a 10 micron filter on the gas pump I use to make saw gas.

I like the new orange fuel filter btw. Cheap too
