I’ve learned a thing or two about squish measuring over the years.

As you all know, find the solder that’s closest to the squish you are measuring.

When you turn an 019 squish saw over with 024 solder, you will barely (if any) feel resistance. I now turn all of my saws over with a portable drill from the crank nut for squish measurement. My old .020 were really more like .016. Point is, if you can still feel the piston hit the solder, you’ve gotta turn it more.
Ok so i will try it again later to see if i get the same results. I just turned it over from the flywheel by hand. I will use a drill and see if it changes my measurements.

Must say first time running a efco 152 CC 5018. Just got the piston kit in Friday and installed yesterday. Just finished first cuts in dry ash with 18" buried with a 325 chain that has those big crap safety bumper fins.
Even though everything was against it. Being not broken in and crap chain. I was highly impressed. Only thing I done was added 2 holes to the other side of the inner muffler baffle.

Do you want the muffler like it is, or painted to look new ?

I love this saw !!
She has a ton of grunt and she isn’t even through 1/2 of a tank yet !

Can’t slow her down by pushing, you havta dog her in or lower the rakers a bunch. Running 8 tooth 404 with a 25” bar and off the roll RM
Don’t worry with painting it. If it loud, burns a lot of fuel, and cuts like a scalded monkey I like it

Ok Doc i did the drill method with measuring squish. In about 6 locations around the head. All came out the same at .0430. Same measurement i got doing it by hand. I made sure i cut my solder with a razor and not snips because the snips were deforming the end. Thanks again for another method of double checking ur work.

Hopefully some videos of the action.

I can't leave you all hanging.

This is one I put together for @Mo Jim. Ported with a 395 piston, but it has a stock muffler outlet with spark screen, and stock carb. A little different from my normal build but it turned out very nice. FYI, I think it will be for sale soon.

Then there is this one I put together for Rod.
