I can't leave you all hanging.

This is one I put together for @Mo Jim. Ported with a 395 piston, but it has a stock muffler outlet with spark screen, and stock carb. A little different from my normal build but it turned out very nice. FYI, I think it will be for sale soon.

Then there is this one I put together for Rod.

Very nice. What kind of chain/sprocket set up it that?

What chips?

See those little dark spots and slashes on the squish band?

They’re little gouges that have accompanying gouges on the piston..

How does the crank feel?

Crank feels good but what do I know.

Not wobbling, no wiggle, no noise.
Feels pretty strong.
Rotates freely.
Connecting rod slides side to side along the rod without being sloppy.

But what the heck do I know.

I don’t see any blueing or other defects on the rod or shaft.
Is there a test that a hack like me can run to make sure?

Was planning on replacing the seals, which is something I’ve never done, so any links or advise is very very welcome.

I thank you all for your help....

The seals are nla, but they cross refrence to National part number 472705. I have used them in about 8 saws so far with good luck. Once you get the seals out you want to check the crank for movement. Up and down, and in and out. If you need help getting to that point pm me, and I can help you through it.

Freaking A!
Wish I could like that more than once!

Is this a “Drill out a pair of pilot holes, pull out with drywall screw?”

Don't really want any metal shavings going into the bearings. Usually a small screwdriver will pop them right out.

image.jpg Ok the FNG is at it again....so i got a 346xp AM job for the 351. Stock OEM is at .019 squish no gasket. AM is at .028 no gasket. With out a porter or machinist in my garage is it still an advantage to run a 346 closed port head over the 351 open port? Possibilities r still endless at this point, wer just in the test phase. Would like to hear the pro side. Thanks
