almost, you have good eyes Mike.
Low hour 42 year 92 week 07, not sure if she had the grey top cover, probleby.
Three who killed the tank, but she was also scored, so I dismantled her totally, couldnt find anything wrong inside but put in a new Explorer 6201 bearing and seals since I was there, top end cleaned up okey, but I'll probleby put her to the side and wait a bit, before or later there will come a good top end.

This part is yours ;) one thing left to get for ya

I cannot be sure with the 246, but I can say that on the 242, the proprietary PTO bearing houses the seal and is more rare than hens teeth. I picked up a PTO bearing from a Stihl 020AV that would work except that the inner race protrudes out about .060 where the actual 242 bearing it is flush. I could probably make it work by modifying the oil pump worm gear if I had to...

I would check with @Tor R on the 246.

Thanks I haven't checked yet but are they the same seal for each side or different
different seal from flywheel to pto side, I dont know any other Huskies using that pto seal other then 44/444 and the 242 class. Flywheel seal is no problem, think they still use them in weedcutters etc.

I had to read up on them Stihl PTO bearings, there was two different pto bearing for the 020, the one you got and one for the 020 avp, 4430 vs 4330.

I believe the 246 is the same as a 242 with a 2mm larger bore and open port
yup.
The thing with a 246 top end is that we cant use it on old 242/42 cases, them old cases where made for 42mm slug
