posted this for a few days ago, the one in the middle (42), after she had been crushed by a tree the owner never gave her up, since the ignition part didn't had grounding anymore due that case part was well, hanging in just the rubber antivib lol, he took the kill switch wire, grounded it close to the coil, and to the ignition part.
42 and 242 little batch.jpg

He used this molested saw until the fuel line was pile rotten and thats where he gave her up. Inside the saw, I found this piston:

After the tree hit her, I think the damage was done to the piston in the crush, and it hang together to the end, the owner got maximum out of this 42 :D

It hasn’t happened on a saw for me yet... but I think it’s super cool! Don’t toss that coil...
I want to run a chain backwards!!!!

Maybe that explains all the rear-cutting chains on EBay. They were on to something [emoji13][emoji13]

272 piston cut for 046 jug. This one is for Jack and has to be easy start.

Chamber opened. Gonna get a Husky 390XP decomp valve and possibly a T slot in the Ex port roof after initial start and run.

272 slug is lighter and single thick ringed. Can add fingers if needed.

272 piston vs. 036. Both Meteors.

Not as cool as Al’s project, working on a 371XP for a friend. He bought this saw new in 98’, never had a problem with it or replaced so much as a fuel filter. He asked me to go through it just because he thought it might be time. Just got everything cleaned last night, working on dirty saws sucks lol.

Bearings feel like they’re rolling on a cheese grater. Good timing for a rebuild.

Yay another 60cc project builder. Bought for parts but to nice under the grime.

The big plus is the K041 3/8 60dl bar with replaceable tip. Been NLA for a long time.

Also came with the oregon 76 3/8 chain folks use for lighter race chain chassis and drive links.

Oh and new to me partner bar cover.

Not sure yet, he asked what I would give him for it. If you’re interested I can ask if you’d like.

Edit: spoke too soon, he’s going to go ahead with the rebuild. Good move IMO
No worries my friend. Can’t believe he even thought about not rebuilding it. Not that much investment if all it needs is bearings and seals
