Tor, you are the 24x master!! :)
not so sure about the master tittle. I'm learning each time I get one 42, 242, 246, I gotta admit that I'm addicted to them :D
In the last months we've seen 242's and 254's in rebuilds threads here, its cool to see them old classic saws are back again

Gilardoni, around 94 I guess had 3 top ends for the 242 plattform.
241A, 42 Special
241B, 242
241C, 246
KS delivered the pistons for those 3, dont know why Gilardoni quit making pistons for the 42 special, well, I guess they wasnt good with pistons..

I have nice old 254 that I'll be digging into at some point. Do they also use a proprietary bearing on the PTO side?

Looks like a lot of work.
Your thread is great too on the raffle saws.
It makes me want to send my 262 off
but I might not be able start it. It is a KS HDA87 that am am already on my 2nd starter pulley in a year and I don't even use it much.
Great work cutting those bands

My Dolmar PS-7300 is back on the bench.

She felt sloppy, so I checked the AV mounts - found a broken spring.
Actually broken-fixed-broken again spring.

The cylinder AV spring was also broken, welded and broken again on this saw when I purchased her.

My PS-7300 is on sick leave till I get a new spring.

How the heck does one break these springs anyhow?
Maybe I'm just babying my saws! o_O

What's on my bench is frustrating! Anyone else get frustrated by all the NLA parts husky has? I like huskys for the outboard clutch and air filtration but I'm about ready to sell them all and switch over to stihl due to this NLA B.S.!!!
Sorry rant over

Poulan S25DA. Paid $8 for it, put new fuel line in it, but it's not drawing any fuel from the tank. So, I'm guessing the diaphragm is toast. Fires and runs on mix in the carb. Great compression. Anyone know of a source for NOS Walbro's for this thing? Ebay turned up nothing. Probably not worth putting a new carb in but it's actually in pretty nice little saw. Be a good one to throw in the SxS or on one of the atv's when I'm trail riding.
