Turned out pretty good.....run better than they looked!!!]
Still have a 10mm 044 good case and cylinder and another 046 good case and cylinder. I robbed those what I needed for these. Maybe in the future....

my 238 SG year 85 will get one adjustable oil pump, modded so it can use the newest type clutch drum & worm gear. This is about the materiale I have to dremmel away....

Ummm, I don't know how many you can handle @Glock37, 2x242xpg cases, 1x242g case, 1x238sg cases, not sure about the 42 case yet. There may come one 234sg case also.

I'm still laughing over this molested 42 year 90 (it will probleby go some time before I get over that one:

I thought it was funny that wiring, them two grounded on the coil was so the coild was grouned due the case was split in two. it's such a hillbilly repair :D but the best part came today when I just wanted to check in what condition the clutch was in. Well, the owner had put in a new clutch & drum :D:D Maybe he though it would fix the crushed crankcase :D

Just make sure all rubber and screws dowel pins are removed

U can leave bar stud and dowels on bar pad

I will strip the cases down Mike.
Do you use dutch tape before the sandblasting (we used dutch tape and rubber tape?

Lol ya that shipping is awful, wish we didnt have that stupid pond between us

I use split bearings on bearing bores and silicone stopper in seal bore i screw them together when doing out side then i do inside and stay away from mating surfaces as much as i can
Before powder we tape off areas with hi temp tape and plug screw holes with plugs and tape off areas that dont get powder

anything we need to do with them serial tags Mike?
I will disable the bearing, clean them in a powder cleaner, and remove all screws, rubbers, taps, hopefully it will be easy for you.

Not sure the 42 will head over to you, I need one who doesnt need to be a pretty saw ;)

I drill a small hole behind end of rivet and tap rivet out from back side other rivet is easy to get too

The oil behind tag will ooze out
I know what you are saying Mike, on them 242's one of them rivet is easy to knock out, the other one is a blind style.
Do you know where we can purchase them rivets?

If you drive them out from behind you can reuse them

If you drill the one u can tap it out from the back and when you put case together a dap of sealer then install rive tits in the oil tank

Something is not adding up here. I get that the 046 got a AM 460 Tank Holder with the flippy cap, but the before pic is an 044 with a broken 440 filter cover, the finished product is a 440 with an 044 filter cover.

Did the 044 get 440 case halves??? Either that, or pics are mis labeled.

Switched, swapped and exchanged parts I needed and purched some new plastics that were needed.
Had four saws, two of each to make two....1 044 and 1 440, made the 440, and 2 046's to make one...
The two in the before picture are what's left......

Sorry for any confusion.....not trying to mislead anyone as stated.

P&C are in perfect shape, new ring, base delete,.020 timing advance and a muffler mod. These mufflers have to be one of the most restricted mufflers I have seen.

I don’t see a lotta 246’s posted on the forum. Seems like they were kinda rare?

246 decal should be available still.
242xp is NLA in Norway, but 242xpg is available and the same with 42 special, clueless if 246 is still available.

When your in a new husky shop and something catches your eye.
One of the workers said he bought a 562 in 2015 and hadnt used it since, So he was selling his other saw. OE without the primer bulb :b1:
Even though it wasnt a 346 I didnt care. Even has the updated oem metal clamp already.
