Back at it with @RocketRoss57 's 2100cd. The intake and block are both freshly resurfaced flat with new gaskets. A thin wipe of loctite red on the surfaces and a drop of blue on the screws and this thing should hold tight.
Now it's time to set this cylinder in place and torque it down. 20160920_233724.jpg 20160920_233741.jpg

Got cabers from the greek today, 242 and 346NE rings.

I got some work for tomorrow, at least I can finish the queen, the clumpy one has to wait for OE carb floor (its someplaces in my mess).
Both will go without gasket, and a few other things...one of the days I gotta figure out when Husky started to make those 242 XPG, it was between 90-91, maybe @SawTroll knows it.

Well, the parts I ordered for the MS 660 and MS 461 (pistons for both, etc) finally came in today, took almost 2 weeks!

Then the owner of these saws (a local tree guy) calls me and tells me that he is dropping off another MS 660 in the morning. seems that the local Stihl shop charged him $125 to rebuild the carb, and when it ran like crap afterwards, they just told him that "now it needs a new carb". He rented a crane and everything, put the big bar on the saw, and it just bogged in the cut.

I told him since the other 660 is currently apart, I'll just put that carb on it to see if it is the problem, but I may vac test it first.
