Al, are you putting a dcomp in that jug, or plugging it? Do some 026 jugs have that and some not?

I presume that is a Meteor Piston cut to flat top.

Are that jug & piston similar to mine?

Im gonna answer Mike cause this jug is enroute to me to finish for Leadfarmer.

I will plug the decomp but plan on shortening the plug to lose some comp. this is a 260 jug and that is the stock piston.

Are you gonna put an extra washer or two under the plug?
What would happen if you shortened the decomp plug? Maybe an extra washer under it or cut some of the threads of it??

Not sure yet Mike. When I have the jug in hand Ill decide. I plan on opening around the squish a bit also. Hoping to get this down around the 200 range.

@Brewz Mail delivery today of a loop of Archer chain for the little Stihl. With the bar on right side up, the chain just laid there on the bench. Flipped it over back upside down and it hopped right on there like it was at home. No wonder they put a kangaroo on the package.
First though I had to go into full MacGyver mode on the clutch cover and patch a hole in it.
For anyone interested, I will be doing a bit of a review in the Archer chain thread.

Dug 2 projects out of the boneyard. Both should run with fuel lines and carb kits.

Cut that band by hand with mandrel and a stop. Gotta go with what works.

Yeah Mike, 026 pistons are domed. I cut the dome off to match the flat chamber I cut.

It works fine with that compression as is John. I think the smaller bores can handle it.

Mike, your 026 is identical inside.

I did one this way for a logger who now has around 750 true running hours on the saw. 32:1 and no issues 18 months later.

Everything has gone fine expect this little bugger, saw start, but it doesn't give enough fuel, dying of fuel, swapped carb and everything work, but I gotta figure out what is wrong with the original carb.
Anyone have a clue?
