Must be basket case 500i week 🙄
The tree won.
New handle ordered. After scraping a few layers of crud off...weird bashed in section below the oil cap...which was crushed.
Gonna strip it all down but not splitting the case to look for any other damage.
At least I was able to straiten the bar :p
Half hr or so just to chisel out the oiler from the black concrete.

If you have a heat gun or hair blow dryer with a low setting and hit your jbweld just after pouring it in you can get the bubbles to rise out ,most times.
Did that, but, this is Marine Tex which seems to flow a little better with heat than JB. I also didn’t really care how it looked…the owner sure won’t, lol

I have a rough 045 super I've been thinking about tearing down and parting out, but I haven't cause I hate tearing apart a runner. I know that they're hens teeth so what's an ignition worth to ya or maybe a whole saw?

One of the projects I started around 2018-20, some are still lying around.
This one, from 1990, has been podwered by the one and only, as always great result, new bearings, gasket set and seals.
This type of grip that this one has was only used at the end of 1989 when they went from black to gray, and a little into 1990 before they went gray with more rubber thickness, it’s kinda a rare 242 nowadays.
We'll see how it takes shape during the week, it will be a light porting..

Going through an early 064. Think I’m going to add some heat to this one. Don’t think I have the parts for carb heat but should have all the other stuff for hot grips.

I have several winter filter kits if needed :p
