That is a unique tool. Are those red rings interchangeable for different bores? Did you make it yourself? Can you only cut for flat pistons or dome as well?

I have worked on a few of those style (055/075 hybrid, 031) and I am still not a fan. You don't have to worry about me stealing yours!
Main issue i get is these older saws need a muffler or something you might as well do all the gaskets around the cylinder. hard to not disturb the old brittle ones, I have a "gettaroundtuit" stash of 030-031-032-041-041S-051 saws some day. but the 056 mags come first and they are easier to work onI have worked on a few of those style (055/075 hybrid, 031) and I am still not a fan. I did not make the squish cutter it is from dyno joe. The rings are interchangeable and can change what size cylinder you want to cut. It cuts the band flat I suppose you could probably adapt it to cut a dome if you had the desire to do so. I have not figured out a good way to do bases yet but since it is a 7900 with a solo crank it needs .060 out of the band and still needs a base gasket.
In theory, you could make a base piece that had a cutter mounted. You can definitely modify the cutter for other chamber contours.
Steve has pointed out that his 242 has the same limitation. Cause: AM Meteor piston.
If Meteor 242 piston is used it becomes a low compression turtle, with the same intake timing as the old 42 had.
With your new throttle assembly, are you getting full speed?I replaced the throttle assembly with a nos after noticing the thing was not quite getting to full throttle.
Got a few hundred more rpms but still not right, sigh...also tried a 3rd carb
With the new assembly the throttle opened fully. Not that it was a big amount in the first place…It hit 14,3 briefly after playing with the 3 screws but that didn’t last. The weirdest thing is if I go in much past 1 turn it starts to die and wot is actually less. I’ve never seen a carb do that.
