Bar, chain ,sprocket, clutch drum look very new,
saw has some time on it @155 comp,,,
I don't know about that. Unmolested, 155 is about as good as it gets. From my experience, that saw with a bunch of time on it would be well under 140. I wouldn't even bother looking under the muffler were it mine.

Shindaiwa 360 that got a complete rebuild. Has had fuel issues ever since. Idles fine, cuts great. But, jostle around and it dies. Kinda acts like an air leak but not quite...no surging at idle or wot. V&p test were good before I buttoned it up.
The tank vent tube was shot (missed it before) so just replaced that, tried another new filter, fuel line was replaced at rebuild. I guess the next thing to do is another p&v test, sigh...nos carb but I've rebuilt it anyway since it was 30yrs old :p
I'd like to get this figured out as it is a great little, 11# saw.

Well, p&v passed, carb passed...hmm...
No air leaks
Has to be some sort of fuel delivery issue. Vapor lock? I filled the tank about half way so the filter is well immersed.

Has to be an air leak…sprayed carb cleaner into the recoil while running and rpm’s drop.
The mystery continues…

Check to see if the throttle and choke butterfly screws are tight. Also check for slop in the throttle shaft.

I’ll try that. Today I re-tested p&c while cycling the piston and spraying soapy water all over… nada leaks.
I moved on to assembling an early flat top 066..

Disconnect the kill switch wire at the coil to eliminate a bad wire/switch. If it sat forever fuel can varnish the inside of the tank become free with fresh fuel and vibration and clog the carburetor fuel intake screen with clear varnish specs you can only see if you remove the screen and hold it up to the light.

Husky 350 rebuild. Tore it all the way down to re-seal the bottom end. The cylinder riser was warped…I don’t think I have ever found one that isn’t. After machining it flat and removing the transfer dividers, I put it back together with blue loctite on the riser screws.IMG_0145.jpegIMG_0146.jpeg

What's wrong with the skidonts? I had a 700 that I put in a Polaris chassis once and never hooked oil to the bottom end... It didn't turn out that well for the oil gear in the bottom end

My wife got me a mess of sled carcasses for my birthday, with a ton of parts and two good engines. None of the sleds are actually 600ho chassis, so I’m going to have to get creative. The nicest one had a 600 triple in it, but that engine is long gone. One of the 600 twins was in a fire, but it looks like the engine survived, and he included all new rubber for it (wiring, sensors, intake boots, hoses, coolant bottle, etc.) The other one that will probably get fully restored and converted is a 700 chassis.

That 700 motor sold me on dominator ran that motor for probably 20 miles with no oil pump or water pump. Launching flames out of the exhaust didn't put a single score on the pistons. Put a head gasket and a new gear and did it again... Second time got it so hot it locked up. Let it cool down back to running. Thats when I found out there was an oil line to the bottom end... Put a third gear in still no scoring still running last I knew lol

My sled used to have a triple in it and the twin hit the steering so my cousin welded a 45 degree piece to 1 carburetor and it sat in there with an angle on 1 carb lol that sled was fun I miss them

What are you putting on that for a cylinder Greg?
