Husky 350 rebuild. Tore it all the way down to re-seal the bottom end. The cylinder riser was warped…I don’t think I have ever found one that isn’t. After machining it flat and removing the transfer dividers, I put it back together with blue loctite on the riser screws.View attachment 477035View attachment 477036
Did you by any chance, take pics of what you did on the transfer dividers? I've got a couple 353 cylinders id like to experiment with.

The OEM 45mm cylinder is in good shape, and I have a meteor 353 piston, so I’m going to use that combo.
I happened to compare a 350 to a 353-cylinder one time and what I noticed most was the upper transfers were much smaller in the 350.
So, I would think if a handy guy such as yourself were to open them up it would run more gooder.

That is the approach I’m going to take. No machine work on this one, but I’m doing to work the transfers a bit and widen the exhaust. Timing advance and muffin mod too. I think it will make a good firewood saw for someone.

I can take a pic of that. I noticed it helped when doing 350/346 builds. Not sure if it is really needed with the 350 cylinder.

Excellent! I've got a 345, a Chinese 350 riser, and a 353 top end that id like to stick together in my abundant free time.

Did you do anything to the transfer covers?
I haven’t done anything with the cylinder yet. I can’t remember if there is a good 350 build thread…perhaps I need to make one?

@Onan18 has a bunch of threads on the 345/346/350/353 series, but i think you might be able to improve the state of the art.

I'll go out on a limb and say im not the only one who would appreciate a build thread by you!

I have one to reassemble so, yea, do a thread 😃I do have oe 346 tops but they are worth more than the saw, lol

I support this. Had the itch to build a 350 for awhile.

I will see what I can put together...it would have been nice to start documenting at disassembly, but I might be able to piece together some pics.

I know its a lot of effort. I have a hard time even doing teardown pictures: do work, wash hands, find phone, take pictures.

So please, don't feel any pressure just because the entire civilized world is hoping for a new build thread.

@farminkarman are you reusing the old bearings and seals or new? I have been finding the aftermarket seals are shaped a little different than the oem
I’m reusing the OEM seals and bearings. I have yet to need to replace any on the 10+ 345’s/350’s that I have done.

I just finished up a 350 and have another torn down I need to get put back together but not sure what cylinder yet. If I can get rid of the transfer I will reuse the 350 cylinder. If not maybe go with the Dukes 346xp cylinder. Greg, thats very interesting on the transfer dividers. I might try that on the next one, thanks for sharing!
