What if he only chips off part of the "mushroom" on the end that holds the clip on? Asking for a friend.....The same kind of guy that beats on the end with a bfh and chips it off
As long as the clip stays on, I guess that’s all it needs to doWhat if he only chips off part of the "mushroom" on the end that holds the clip on? Asking for a friend.....
Those f-ing screw heads are hard, and they'll shred a drill bit. Coincidentally, I found that out on a 365 top end! Shortly thereafter, I learned what "replacement muffler" meant. This thing is the gift that keeps on giving. It's all but split, but I had to do the ole "remove the muffler with the top end" trick.
That's code for "someone rounded off the M5 hex's way up inside the muffler tubes"...

Its no-leak tight. I'm tempted to let them vibrate out, but i can't sell it like that. Those f-ing screw heads are hard, and they'll shred a drill bit. Coincidentally, I found that out on a 365 top end! Shortly thereafter, I learned what "replacement muffler" meant.![]()
I was lucky, my saw started as a 6401 so I didn't have to fight with a crack pipe. LolCrack pipe mufflers are a hoot.

Still have to uncrimp those to get the birdcage out. At least if you want it to flow well with a muffler mod.I was lucky, my saw started as a 6401 so I didn't have to fight with a crack pipe. Lol

Did you use HSS or special drill bit Daniel? Those f-ing screw heads are hard, and they'll shred a drill bit. Coincidentally, I found that out on a 365 top end! Shortly thereafter, I learned what "replacement muffler" meant.![]()
cobalt drill bits work good in these situations.Did you use HSS or special drill bit Daniel?
Thanks Mike. I've used them before on dog spikes to good success. Any idea how much bigger than the thread to try and drill the head off? 0.5mm or 1.omm bigger you think?cobalt drill bits work good in these situations.

Myself, I go barely any bigger if I can especially if it's down in a cavity where you're kinda drilling blind. I like to use as much of the Allen key pocket as possible to keep the bit centeredThanks Mike. I've used them before on dog spikes to good success.
