Getting them knocked out. 4 done and 2 in progress.

Exmark Commercial 30 and Craftsman snowblower both got new carbs. Both running nicely now.

Honeywell 5500 watt generator got a new carb, plug, and oil change. Unit is based on a Generac GP5500..

BR600 got a new carb, valve adjustment kit and service kit consisting of a new air filter, spark plug and fuel filters.

Yard Machines 8/26 is in progress, getting a service, carb cleaning, new skid shoes, and a good used starter.

Tomorrow I have to do a road service on a Craftsman 24" two stage snowblower which is getting a new shear pin, oil change and spark plug.

One of my crane operators Husky 550xpg. This is after cleaning, it was pretty bad. Needed a new rim drive and grease the clutch bearing. Sprocket in tip of bar has a bind in it recommended he buy a new bar. First saw to work on other than friends and family.

Earlier in the day I went through a McCulloch 3200 to replace fuel and oil lines, fuel filter, rebuild the carburetor. All cleaned up and back together now, runs as it should, I'll put it on the "For Sale" rack and see what happens.

Next up is this Montgomery Ward branded McCulloch 300 Series. I will clean it up and put it on display in the front of the building. Second project the new saw work bench in the new shop.

Bottom line. Towing anything but light weight stuff with a 4 cyl is a crap shoot at best. Just not HD enough.
You need a minimum 1500/150 to tow anything. Transmission, brakes, suspension etc all smaller.
Trailer brakes is a must though...

Me and my dad hauled a 3500 pound car on a trailer across the state with a Toyota Tacoma pickup with a 2.7L 4 cylinder engine and it never missed a beat. We have an old Chevy LUV with a 1.8L 4 cylinder and it’s pulled some heavy loads in it’s day.

I hate messing with other people's stuff, once You touch it You're responsible for all other defects that are unrelated to the initial one.

My neighbors 038AV is back.
He poked through the oil tank cap forcing it open with his scrench.
Fuel is leaking somewhere bad, it looks like the tank is cracked at the handle mount.
Chain is loose sagging an inch, chain catch is nearly completely gone.
Exhaust is full of oil, and supposedly the saw won't start no more.

I am considering to return the saw untouched and just direct him to the local Stihl dealer - it might teach him to not rape his saw as he appears to have.

Sounds like someone that could mess up a rock with a rubber hammer!
There are a lot of those people out there. I'd bet everyone on here that works on saws knows at least a few! Lol

His brush cutter was twice on my proverbial bench, after the second fix I told him he can bring it back only if he wants me to set it on fire.
First time I had the thing the shafts teeth stripped out, I found him a used replacement shaft.
The second time the fuel tank was cracked and the carb kept flooding, again I found used replacement parts from a fried unit.

Just give him 1 or your prized Dolmars. Do a test and see how tough they are. LMAO
Would You give one of Your Stihl's to a known hamfisted operator? o_O

No, my saws are dear to me - NO ONE touches them without my presence/supervision.

Honestly, he can get his 038 fixed or buy another saw - either way I don't really want to have anything to do with it as I'll just end up being responsible for his irresponsibility.

Later in the day I brought my 77 out of the little garage and put it on the bench in my home shop to test fit a bar and chain before sending them out to my nephew in Alaska. Seems he is working for a tree service Kodiak, AK and his boss has a McCulloch 77, took the bar and chain off some years ago and lost them. He would like to get it back together now.
