Here’s the Jonsereds XF I started working on over the Holidays. I’d say she works fine. Chain is an old (but sharp) semi-chisel, wood is FROZEN beech. Operator is old and frozen.

Gotta love an old XF running and cutting! I got one of mine running a few days ago, but leaky tank needs repaired.

A very dirty Husvarna 55 carburetor that's going on a Partner 500. Both came with WT carbs but the throttle linkage connections are different and the 500 doesn't have a choke in the carb. The 55 carb works as is but I'll be removing the the choke. I think the 55 carb is a little larger so that's a plus.

Not on the bench but once I get it out from between the fenders it will be beside it. Hopefully tomorrow if all goes well.

Maybe if it warms up a bit I might get the carbs rebuilt on the two Makita concrete saws .These things have plugs in the air filter housing so you could not get a screwdriver in to tune the jets .Probably to keep the engine speed below 9200 RPMS .I would think with a limited coil that would not be necessary .
I have no idea if they did need adjustment how you could remove the plugs .I did on one by driving the plugs inward and clipping off about 1/4" at a time until it all came out in pieces .Seems like a half fast way to do things .It's a Dolmar design and some times it's hard to figure out how Germans think about design things .

Sleek and fast! German thinking

In a way perhaps except it's a concrete saw and rated much higher than I would have thought .I also would have thought the high RPM limitations would be lower than 9200 RPM .However I don't know the reduction ratio is is on the drive belt .I think the deal is you have to keep the wheel RPM below around 5,000 .I certainly would not like to blow a wheel, that could be worse than spitting a chain .Scares me and I'm fearless .Can you imagine getting hit in the family jewels with a chuck of wheel .

Wheels are rated at 10k rpm. 1:1 ratio on the pulleys. The ratio could be different on a 4 stroke model, never messed with those so no idea how fast the motor spins

Stihl 024 dropped off, would not idle, figured carb rebuild and fuel line.

After finding low needle had been backed out 5 turns, when set back to factory it would not idle down.

Is leaving with fuel line, impulse line, intake, crank seals, base gasket and P & C clean up (no scoring/transfer only carbon). Flywheel seal and impulse were shot. It took more time to clean up, than fix. Is a sharp chain and blowing it off too much to ask for.

Added some cheap fake leather Dickies seat covers to the new ride to protect the nice seats. $30 at Walmart. Have Weathertech floor liners and cargo liner coming this week. They weren't cheap but they'll keep the floors nice.

Those weathertechs are nice. Wife has them in the suburban. Very helpful with two kiddos.

Appears correct. Must be a 2:1 difference in the pulleys then. A couple of my blades say 54-5600 on them also

Other than these engine driven saws I have a couple of 14" electric chop saws and the metal blades I think might be around 5500 or so .Those are direct drive cheapies ( Mexico ) but they work as long as you don't lean on them too hard .
I've used masonry blades on those too , cheapies to cut brick dry with no water .Talk about dust .mercy .Don't get much life out of the blades cutting fired brick but I didn't have many to do .I'm a retired electrician but I can lay brick, block and do stone work I'm just not real quick at it .

Nice work! Good looking saw.
I thought it cool how the chips were directed outboard.
