Off till January 4th! Had a nice catered lunch at work today. Got 2 checks and a nice bonus! Got a new work coat and a few shirts. Of course I'll be in the garage during my time off!

Love the tool box. Way out of my league though. Merry Christmas Will, congrats on the new ride also. Take a little time and take the wifey for spin -- relax a bit. Happy New Year.

Thanks and a Merry Christmas to you! Worked till just after 1 today. Took the new ride shopping with her last night, it works great! I am taking a little break from side work till Monday, got a car payment now so I want to get started on saving up a bit for that.

Well, its not on my bench, kitchen table to be exact, too cold to work on it outside. Just got done with a 290/390 and another 290. Shaun sent me back the cases so I started putting it together today. I missed the one I sold so I'm putting together another 394/5.

So much for NO REGERTS! Lolol!

Putting together a 2245 w/ a 2250 top end kit. Flywheel key was sheared so I’m going to score it and use a piece of wire and some compound. 28C3067B-3670-42B5-95BB-0BA60E9B6B56.jpeg
Should have pulled it apart, the cylinder might have been salvageable. Piston looked pretty toasty so I just got the full kit.

Don’t forget the blue stuff. :D

And a pretty clean 55, which got an OEM kit as well.

Waiting on an ex gasket and a couple screws/nuts. Husky will get sailed and the red is probably going to my dad. The decomp will hopefully allow him to start it easier than his 435.

Got a Dolmar PS341 giving me fits. Came in for no start which I diagnosed as a fuel system issue. Pulled the carb off and found the inlet screen clogged due to a missing fuel filter, cleaned/rebuilt carb and replaced fuel filter. Still won't go. Will run on mix down the carb. Replaced fuel tank vent as I wasn't getting fuel to the carb. Pulled carb back off and no fuel in the carb. Checked for impulse at impulse hose, didn't seem to have one so I traced impulse hose to side of the cylinder, pulled cylinder off and replaced impulse hose. Before I reassemble anything else to check? Should I pressure/vac test this thing?

Found the issue. Needs intake gaskets as well. This has a funky dual impulse setup. Hose going from cylinder to fuel pump side of carb and to the carb block, this carb doesn't use the impulse at the carb block.
