Square the intake but don't widen it much. Widen the exhaust to 65% of the bore, advance the timing and make a hole in the rectangular indent behind the deflector. It'll run pretty good. Cross pop up piston is a good addition.I’m on it
Thanks

Any explanation regarding the purpose of that shape?
Can you show off those red blue and green gadgets (Tools) on the wall behind your Homelite? You have aroused my curiosity. Thanks in advance. My buddy's XL-12. Reassembled the carb and sharpened the chain. Still waiting for intake gaskets.![]()

I was fishing for the brand and your opinion of them as well as if the T27 was long and slender to do Stihl cylinder work, durability, cost factor etc. Have not seen these specific tool and as I mentioned you made me curious. Thanks for your replies.Yes.

What a pita of a saw to do for not a whole lot of gain. But who can leave a saw stock?
Easy to go backwards on this one.

The Remington starter/cover is just for looks, the saw is set up for the Fairbanks Morse starter...I am waiting on one coming from Chris Bean...in fact it may be waiting in the post office but I didn't get there during their open hour today. I couldn't resist and spun it over with the drill and a prime, seems to fire off just fine.
