I see stihl putting the china made bosch in saws now. Bought new never changed.

Whats your guys trick for defeating these metal epa stops on this one? I watched a video. But wonder if another way.

Are they like a little shiny metal disc? Look on the bottom. Drill out the dark colored spot and the limiters come right out

I was wondering if like the 150 carb I did.

But I think it is as you say. Except this one has 2 of them. 2nd pic not mine as I forgot to show that long ago.

Cut some wood up for my dad. Something just doesn't seem right with the 346 so she's in the 'needs work' pile. I'm thinking of either crank seals/bearings or the riser is leaking since when I assembled it, I used Permatex #2 instead of MotoSeal/something similar. I'm thinking of replacing the seals/bearings and resealing the riser with MotoSeal/something similar.

Get a tube of the red dirko HT (stihl oem sealant that they use for 290 farmboss) or 3 bond 1184. You can find both on ebay or buy the dirko from a stihl dealer. Not cheap... but a tube lasts a long time and doesn’t harden if you put it in a ziplock bag. I’ve had great luck with those two sealants in the 350 clamshell saws or others. I can’t really comment about the other sealants, but that’s what’s worked for me.

No problem. Also check the cylinder transfer bulge and make sure it’s not touching the side of the plastic cases. Those ribs in the case had to be ground flat for my cylinder to seat down. The intake partition wall also sits down in the case a certain way. If it gets set down the wrong way it will push up on the intake/cylinder causing problems.

I will definitely check that as well. If I remember correctly didn't have to touch the ribs for my cylinder to sit down. I used an OEM cylinder.

Did you grind a impulse passage on the 346 cylinder? It’s required to allow the impulse to work properly since the 350 and 346 cylinders have different impulse setups.
