aint difficult to get the shine, probleby 10 minute job. Credit goes to @rattler, the guy is a clever guy, that I can say.
WD40, 240 grit, 600 grit, if I got lots of time 1000 grit and a round 2000 grit, most of the time I skip the last two.
3-5 minute with alu polish stuff, and thats it.

Just finished rebuilding this last night. Kind of cool. It's a k45ss from before Hobart sold KitchenAid in 86. 20200206_205324.jpg Came from the dumpster just needed a new speed controller but got a full pull down, clean and grease. Oh, and purple ghost skull flames cause uh... yeah.

Nice.
I forgot about motorcycles too

And guns... Their emblem with the H actually depicts a gun sight. IIRC that's their original business going way back.

I also have a husqvarna/viking sewing mach and of course a dirtbike, '87 wr430, last year before the Cagiva buyout.
None of their guns unfortunately, always wanted one of their .22 target pistols.

its how Husqvarna does the roof, the theory is to reduce the carbon buildup, kinda get a exhaust gas swirl. If my memory is correct they had none steps in the early models, a tad in medium model top end, and made the step bigger in the latest models.

Tested my filing job out on the 034. Used a 7/32 file at 30 degrees on the Stihl RM chain. 4 strokes each cutter. I guess I did good. Also finally got the idle speed and mix set for when she's at operating temperature.

Been a while. Hello all. 394xp. I have a 394 cylinder on it ported by walkers from Vancouver island, muffler was gutter and modded by them as well. I had a new top cover but it doesn’t match the colour and with the muffler mod I would have to cut it. No thanks. 6F5824D9-315F-4B2A-8958-95C5E2E0B59C.jpeg59B6812D-B7AE-470B-8B13-3308C6443835.jpeg

Someone dropped off an XL12 a few weeks ago. I did not take a B4 photo but is was a rusty, filthy, dust and oil encrusted mess so I tore it down to give it a good cleaning.

Back together, somewhere along the way I lost the choke knob & choke rod. When I put the AF cover on the knob crumbled into pieces but I should have a spare in the attic of the new shop amongst the saws I brought home last fall.

I moved all my chain and chains to the new shop so I'll put one on when I get it over there.

Assembled my new log horse to do some bucking for my dad tomorrow. A little bit of a pain in the butt to figure out how the braces went however once I figured that out it went right together. Tunes helped of course.
