What are saw surgeons using for epoxy? Not a big fan of JB weld and want something more “professional grade” than walmart epoxy.

Devon or Belzona. Just costs a fortune so if you can’t find those on eBay cheap you’ll be spending $100-200. I liked JB weld since it’s easier to work with.

I don't know if they are still there, but just outside of the base. There was a boat shop. Can't remember the name. Think it was yoop brothers.

They might have marine tex or devcon on hand. Devcon is probably the best, but marine tex tex is good stuff too. Either one won't run like jb does.

On the 4 stroke small engine stuff I used a ton of JB stick, or Moroso 2 part epoxy.
Cut off a chunk, mash it together and stick it onto a slightly roughed up surface. Always held up in intake manifolds and ports for me. Easy to work with as it's more solid, and very easy to shape once hardened.

The nice thing about JB Weld is when you heat it up, it flows and levels itself out with no air pockets. If you don't want it to flow, just build a dam out of tape to hold it in place.

I'm sure the marine grade is a better product when strength or heat is an issue, but I like how JB bonds to a rough surface

Anybody ever use this? Or one of their other formulas?
I happen to be out of everything at the moment, so seeing as it's all I have on hand right now. I'm going to see if it will work for a stihl tank/handle that has a small hole from a thrown chain. (Personal saw doesn't matter if it's cobbled)

Nice thing is that if you heat it to 140 degrees it cures really fast.

Edit: worked great. See how it holds up in a few weeks.

Yep. I used my sanding mandrel with packing tape over the port. Pour it in and let It run against it and there’s not much extra work besides setting the intake floor

I have a roll of aluminum duct tape I've been using. It's a little stiffer. But the mandrel is a good idea too

Duck tape does fix everything[emoji23][emoji23] I liked the mandrel since I could push the JB weld into it and not have a small gap near the wall as easy as just tape. JB quick worked as good as the regular but was a little harder to apply best I remember. I quit epoxying intakes if they were less than 85 the last few 1122 I did.

I haven’t had great results with JB weld. The old stuff (years ago) seemed to work alot better.
