Pouring here as I type. Been the wettest year I can remember. At times, I feel like I moved to Seattle without leaving the mountain...No trouble here. Just a *s-wordload of rain.
And its dryer here than I can remember, we have a dusting of sno and should have a foot and be cold,, Im near Princeton BCI have never seen a fall as wet as we had this year, and still raining as I speak. Last week we got about 3" with that storm. Guess if it was snow there would be more complaining, as it would be a lot of snow. The rain sucks though, can't do anything w/o making mud!
I really think the Gov should require water pipe lines, any time Oil and Gas ones are installed, to move water from one part of the Country to another.
Seems we are getting into cycles of wet or dry here or there, on a regular basis. However, often when one place is having drought, another is being flooded.
IMO, the pipelines would make a lot of sense for agricultural purposes, sanitation, etc.

That jug is worth saving.
I am trying to figure out what to do with this.

She supposedly cuts out mid bucking cut under load.
I guess I will have to mount a B&C on her and take her for a ride.
Curious to find out whether she'll start up.
Pics please?
Are you SURE you want pics?
She fired up fine, 6-7 pulls, had too high idle which I corrected. That's an easy one...sure there's a bunch of guys around here would want it sent to them.
Good luck giving it a go.

I made three bucking cuts after which she just died and wouldn't start back up.
I poured about a spoon full of fuel out of the carb, but the spark plug looked dry.
After sitting a while she fired up OK, made one bucking cut and then died again.
Tomorrow I will first check the piston through the outlet for my own piece of mind, then try running her again.
I expected a 181 to be much louder.
I guess the single tiny muffler outlet is keeping noise low.
Thank You for the hint, will check tomorrow before running the 181 again.Check the ground screw on the ignition coil, if loose will cause erratic behavior as one possibility.

Are these mufflers easy to mod? Those 181, 281 and 288 mufflers seem to have a pretty restrictive baffle in them.

Should I ask my neighbor to mod it or rather leave it be?
The 181 is a work saw and my neighbor is not chainsaw crazed.
