JMS 064 Unicorn clutch/brake surround.

He's the only guy that can build an oem saw with less usable parts than a china clone.

Some of the bolts are reusable on this saw. Thats about it. Oh, and the starter cover...

Pic of a good one for reference thrown in. What a pal. So happy i defended him.

This saw cost me $1300.

That sucks Al, wish there were something I could do to help you out.

I've got a customer's 066 round top on my bench. Needs a tank handle (the fuel tank is leaking) and he wants me to make it run a little better, a muff mod and timing advance (and remove the carb limiters).

Well I did something that I really didn't want to do but I did it anyways my first ms660 I built and had to replace the crank in and runs very strong now I ended up selling it to a buddy of mine because he was really needing a big saw this weekend but after I sold it I wound up buy the clone that I was given to test and port so at least I still have a big saw but it going to be getting some oem parts put in it and of course some port work and carb mod to make it run like I want it to. Lol. Out with the number one saw and in with the number three saw but this one I didn't have to put together. Lol but I'll be taking it apart though. :risas3:IMG_20180510_184454.jpg IMG_20181021_154625.jpg hopping to get some info for you guys on port timing and squish in the next day or two.

Hi Al, I am sorry to hear about your dilemma with the JMS 064 saw.

What I have on the shelf is a complete ready to run Stihl 064 that I believe May help get you where you need to go..... Also, this is what I believe is a rare 064 case which has dual mounting holes for different coil options on the flywheel side.

You have helped me threw out these years, maybe now I can repay you with this offering? Please let me know if I can be assistance.

Jack

Thanks Mike, I know you’d help.

I have parts to fix it.

Al, I know you are real meticulous on how you do things, but if there is anything I can help you with, please let me know. I have lots of experience making Asian parts work well!!! Besides, I always enjoy when we get together, some nice projects have come to fruition, but to date, they have always been for me! I would be happy to return the favor! Two minds work better than one, feel free to let me know when you are working on it, and I'd be pleased to give you a hand.

The quality and generosity of the folks here has never ceased to amazed me. Thank you both.

In case you all haven’t realized it yet, the two guys quoted above are some of the best men I’ve met in my lifetime. Foxhole guys, the ones you’d want with you in a foxhole when the shít was going down.

Mike, your offer is appreciated beyond belief. I bought a bunch of 064 parts a few months ago so I kinda lucked out. Another very generous member gave me a short 066 case for the build that’s coming. It’s the minty 064 @Edwad was supposed to get from JMS but didn’t. I will be building in from NOS or perfect reconditioned used parts with Mike @Glock37 doing the powder coating.

Jack, you are just way to generous my lo fon buddy. I appreciate the offer, but I couldn’t accept. You were taken hard by Jason, I remember that and also hearing about him adding “the best 064 decomp jug he has ever seen” to your saw. I know the jug is AM that he used, and you got screwed. If you’re not happy with that saw, send it down and I will redo the top end free of charge, just supply parts. Your other saw is still just sitting where it was the day I got it. I’ll get to it.

I’ll try to call you both later today. Thank you all again.

I really dig that jeep, very cool how clever they were at shipping and packaging things back then! Sorry to hear about your troubles Al, I have built several of those 064s, the last one I built for a close friend and it fought me every step of the way, I was never so happy to see a saw leave my house. I wish I had more spare parts for them left.

So far, on my “Unicorn”, the unusables are:

Case
Coil
Starter
Piston
Cylinder
Covers
Muffler
Clutch surround/brake cover
Clutch Drum bearing
Sprocket
Airfilter
Tank
Fuel line
Oil pump

Just that so far. More to come as I dig deeper. With friends like him, who needs enemies.

If you guys need a cylinder for the 064 I've got one it would be hard to part with but if you can't find one I'll consider parting with it

Thanks. I have an 064 Jug that’s fine.

@Edwad saw will be a hybrid. I have a Brand new OEM 54mm MS660 Jug and Piston here for it. It’s gonna be a showcase for the best I can do.

I have a few big WJ’s here and good BING for it also.

Got a quartet of Evil Twins on the bench. Wanna guess how many have spark?

If anyone has a handle bracket (where half wrap attaches to saw), ignition module, parts saw, or white plastic knuckle guard that they can cut loose with, please message me. Also, at least one of these saws will end up as a parts saw, so message me if you need something.

Thanks

Scott

What model are those?
I have a couple old echoes in the pile that are complete but haven't looked at either.

Couple dirty saws after use. Just cleaning and sharpening. Other saw was my echo. Never took a pic of it.
