Nice score! I really like the fs120 200 250, the fs250 cylinder is a bolt on! I did that to my fs120r, China cylinder and caber rings, it’s been a runner! I have an all oem fs250, and the China cylinder out runs it!
I'll tell my friend i didn't need it.
I have a pile of trimmer/brushcutters
Use my echo 230 and shindaiwa 230x
The most.
I even have old echo made stihl branded one's.

Back to square 1 on chinese motor swap. Motoseal didnt seal? I think i got a bad tube. Prebuilt motor and took the bolts out and it sprung open. Like a week later. It looks like the crank seals definitely put some outward force on the clam shell but its prob about like a 1 mm gap before it closes down. I wouldnt think that would be enough to pop it back open if the sealer was good. Surfaces wer prepped with PREP-ALL. Same stuff autobody guys use before painting. Pissed off cuz i used the same stuff on the 351/346 build. Prob should tear that back down too. Not sure if i should get another tube or switch sealer brands all together. image.jpg

Bummer, are you letting it set on the surface before you assemble, if you assemble it to fast it doesn’t set up properly, my tube says wait one minute before assemble, it dose make a difference! I have had some top end come off easy and some stick really well, but in either case I didn’t have air leaks, but when I let them set up for a full minute, it dose seem to hold better. Also too thick or too thin isn’t good either, I use a q-tip as a brush to apply the motoseal

Yes i gave it the minute it says. It takes that long to apply it. I didnt get the fancy nozzle so i use a toothpick to move it around. It was weird cuz the lil grove on the clamshell was empty. Like it evaporated or something. Were did it go? Lol! Only me..... id say my portions wer good. What sealer do u use?

Motoseal, love the stuff! I use a q-tip to appy it works great, I put the Motoseal on the q-tip then apply, try letting it set longer, or coat both surfaces. I also don’t give it a full torque right away either I give a light assemble, then give it a few minutes before final torque

Haha! I new tube can be a pain too, it’s too runny, I like it when there is a quarter of a tube left and it’s a little old, lol
You can almost do strait assemble with an old tube, a new tube has too much solvent in it, My theory, so thins out more, or needs more time before assemble.

Forget the 359 boot, they don't fit properly on the 346 jug, and there is no gain to be had there, 359 is more restrictive on the carb end and 346 boot is more restrictive on the intake end, but atleasat the 346 boot seals properly.

Other way around brother, the 346 boot is bigger in the cylinder side. ;)
