Thanks man.

She’s out of a McCulloch 795, really really filthy west coast saw.
Definitely not a runner

Here’s some more photos

Verdict on the blueing?

I think the cylinder and piston look pretty good.

These photos were taken after soaking In purple simple green for only a few hours.
Gonna let her soak a whole lot more.

Hey can anyone tell me the differences between the 795, 797 and 125?
795 and 797 are very similar, really only displacement, the 797 being 123cc, visual identical, minor differences. Cp125 and sp125’s are whole different chasis with av, a completely different saw, but the displacement is 123cc
like a 797.

And the blueing shouldn’t be a problem, probably from when the heated the rod to press in the pin,

Red headed step child came home today. Jonsered 2071 I sold a year or so ago. DOA locked up scored piston. Going to pressure an vacuum test. Guy said it was running good and went to refuel and it was locked up and won't start.

Is it yours again or are you repairing for him?

Thanks a lot man!
The 125 next to the 090 is crazy clean!

Do you see anything of concern with my cylinder that would keep me from buttoning her up and cranking it?

Cylinder looks good from the pics, I don’t see any scoring or scratches or crazy were, but it’s also hard to see really well. You are probably good to go, not s bad idea to replace the rod bolts, you never know if someone over torque them.
