"Wrap" handle mount to cyl...

You definitely want to bust off that little insertion "tab" on the helicoil before assembly... and red loctite is always your friend with a helicoil. [emoji6]

395 piston skirt is a little bit shorter than the 394. Meteor probably uses the same piston for each saw because they're really close
The meteor “394 piston” in the 394 I have here has the pins just like the oem 394 piston does and much longer intake skirt when I measured vs oem 395. Maybe they’ve changed since then.

not sure. I wasn't sure if they offered them both are not. Easiest way to tell them apart is the ring locating pins on the 395 are spaced tighter together above the intake

A interesting little anomaly I noticed... out of the couple oem 395 pistons I have, some mahle some KS, was that the mahle didn’t have wings on the skirts and the KS does. Windows slightly different between them, but close. Same 1.2 mm rings on both and I think the pins were same. Skirt length didn’t look much different eyeballing the two, but I should measure them and see. I bought a new oem P/C kit not too long ago and it was a mahle cylinder with a matching letter KS piston interestingly. Wonder if they ever made a KS cylinder for a 394/5?

Would love to see pics of the 394 and 395 from meteor side by side
Yes, me too !

Oem 395 is basically identical to the meteor, except the meteor is a little heavier and oem has a skirt thats 0.001 longer than the meteor. That would get me down to 79.5 from 80 ......... maybe

Mason, I noticed the same difference with my 10 mm 044. The OEM KS piston has wings, and skirt is a hair longer than the replacement Mahle piston I bought for it. FYI, the replacement piston never went in, I left the original in there, liked it better.

The guy I bought this badboy 3750 from seen it in the chainsaw repair group testing and ask if I would sell it back to him. I told him no problem being the guy that I was holding it for hasnt paid for it as of yet as of 6-7 months now.
Was his grandfathers saw and he was having sellers remorse. I told him it is coming back way better then received.

I had put new intake boot, like new 137 carb I had on hand to replace the 137 on it that had some blockage. New echo oem black fuel and impulse lines.

I had it set up to be tested this weekend with a little planned gtg of some saw testing in 60cc range. But since I shipped it yesterday I tested it and the echo 590 yesterday in a 8" round and 30" dry ash logs.
3750 was running perfect now.

Just so you know watch ups shipping rates as I have always used ups, but no more. They have went up sky high recently. Way more then fedex and usps. I left with the box yesterday because ups wanted $59.55 to GA for 19lb box with 300 ins, 24x16x15. fedex and usps were both way cheaper.

Wings should have better stability?

I’ve got a 394 Meteor on the way to be sure

Thanks Kevin !!

I like to use 395 pistons for the ring pin locations and the thin 1.2mm rings instead of the 1.5mm. On a none previously ported 394/5 the shorter intake skirt doesn't limit what I want to do. It's also a fuzz lighter.

In a 2100 the short skirt does limit how much I can take out of the squish as the intake duration starts to be a limit.

How'd the shootout go?

I posted about it right after on CR. Just the 590 3750. This weekend 590 380 362 and a hutzl 360 and maybe a 357 to be tested at a little gtg we plan on having.

I like the weight and handling of the 3750 and when the 20" bar isnt buried like cutting firewood rounds. 590 wins with 20" buried. These 2 were stock as bought.
Was using dry ash logs big and small.

Dont know what each hold for mix ans bar oil but with same chain and both 20" laminated bars. 16.8lbs and 18.2lbs ready to use. I knew the 590 felt heavier and the scale confirmed what I was feeling.
